Thandi Chardonnay Chenin Blanc 2015

Main Features

A medium bodied, lightly oaked wine with fresh citrus, lime and biscuit flavours. A smooth, fresh mouthfeel with a lingering crisp aftertaste of citrus and peaches.

Viticulture

Origin: Western Cape
Soil type: Sandy and sandy/clay soils
Harvesting time: Mid February
Yield: 8 - 10 tons per hectare

Vinification

Balling: Chardonnay 24,ºB at harvest; Chenin blanc, 22,5º B at harvest
Fermentation: Both the Chardonnay and the Chenin Blanc wines were cool fermented in stainless steel tanks until dry, for 3 weeks
Oaking: No oak was used on either of the wines
Aging: 14 - 18 months
Blend: Chardonnay - 52 % Chenin blanc - 48 %
Serving: Serve chilled with succulent grilled fish or roast chicken
